Self-Help is Crap. 4 Things I did that actually helped me live a better life
Z

Number one:
Do scary stuff to strengthen your nervous system.
Doesn't need to be swimming with your hands tied n shit, but doing scary things teach your brain that it's okay to take risks. It's not reckless to speak your mind on a meeting full of important people. It's weight lifting to your nervous system.
I recommend doing one of these at least once:
men, have a boxing session with a strong dude
sing to what's on your headphones in public
wear the fit you think is too much & ignore attention
flirt with attractive people
try your best to touch something you're very afraid of
Two:
Be okay with disappointing people.
Unless you really value someone's view of your personal life (which is rare) try to just exist naturally and leave the judgement part for them. This way you'll have more time for your own life and also find people who aren't going to make you want to perform which is pure gold.
Also remember the more you try to live up to external expectations the more you'll drift away from yourself, which leads to much bigger BS into your life rather than just being authentic and accepting mismatch sometimes.
Three:
Learn the skill of Planning ASAP.
This easily falls into top 3 most valuable skills to have in my opinion, planning is knowing how to break down big goals into realistic but also effective small steps. This skill is a mix of logic and optimism, my life changed completely when I learned that anything is available for achievement and the price is always the roadway. And I'm glad I understood this early.
YouTube is full of education on this, but don't watch repetitive crap, better listen to backed-up proven to work content.
Four:
Cry when you can, it's exhaust & repair. Not weakness.
I'm not talking about the act of crying specifically. I mean it's fine to process your emotions so they don't turn into bitterness.
If you don't have a way to accept and grief your low points in life you're operating on fake strength that's often short-lived.
When it gets heavy close your door and allow your body to exhaust, otherwise you're leaving too much tox inside.
If you're a man, doing this alone is better. Don't cry in front of people who are relying on you for safety.
Treat it as a mechanism of recovering in solitude.
